The 3rd annual NanoMaterials conference and exhibition moved to Germany for the first time in June 2009. Judging from the feedback, the event was a resounding success.
What sets NanoMaterials09 apart from other ‘nano’ events is that it draws exclusive, high-level speakers and remains loyal to its original conception - to focus on the commercial rather than theoretical. With leading figures in industry, alongside eminent academics, NanoMaterials09 presented real world thinking to emerging technologies.
The afternoon proceedings were differentiated into five streams: Printed Electronics, Nanobiotechnology, Composites and Nanoplastics, Coatings, Inks and Pigments and Clean Techology. Each showcased the most innovative solutions soon to hit the market and the current understanding of the science.
The content on day two shifted towards regulation and safety, unveiling challenges that new technologies face and proposed a number of far reaching and detailed opportunities for industry to go on the front foot with regulation and best practice. Afternoon sessions highlighted the potential for nanomaterials and gave actual examples of products in the market place.
The exhibition was brimming with activity as delegates chatted and networked during the breaks which provided a relaxed but productive atmosphere away from the symposium rooms where business could be done.
